Komodo Edit alert: Can't read path...

For those of you, who prefer working on ActiveState's free IDE Komodo Edit, here's a little fix to the annoying alert "Exception: request:refreshTreeOnOpen, message:Can't read path:/...", some may have had to deal with.

Komodo alert: Exception refreshTreeOnOpen can't access path:

The problem appears when changes are made to Places or Sites panels, or in Remote Accounts under Preferences -> Servers.

Apparently Komodo Edit doesn't refresh the records that were changed and simply keeps outdated info within its logs.

No worries, just go to Komodo's installation direcotry, for example: /home/{user}/.komodoedit/6.1/, and delete all files from there. Attention: do NOT delete directories, only the files:

  • view-state.xmlc
  • doc-state.xmlc
  • history.sqlite
  • pystderr.log
  • etc...

Komodo Edit installation directory

Next time you start Komodo Edit, the IDE will recreate those files again, this time with some more accurate info (hopefully).

Good luck!
